Last Friday I headed down to Portsmouth Gunwharf quays where they hosted the seafood festival for the 3rd year running.
I spoke to John the organiser ‘ It took a Scotsman to bring a seafood festival to Portsmouth 😂”
As it was the third year going and previous years proven very popular, its got bigger and better with its opening hours extended to a 3 Day not 2 day festival!
Traditional smoking fish. Smokies
This was my first time attending though. And I’m sure to return next time if it returns again!
The weather was lovely for the festival! Sea sun & seafood!
I tried food from many stalls the options were endless. A nice taste of things from all over. Typical English fish and chips, prawn cocktails to Asian style soft shell crabs!
I liked how there wasn’t loads of the same food being sold at different stalls. It seemed like a real community working together.
The areas where you could sit weren’t shaded and with the sun blazing this was slightly uncomfortable.
I also saw masterchef wine Shelina , owner of lakazmaman in Southampton take to the stage to demo her coconut prawn curry
The festival was a lovely place to visit and indulge in seafood! With a spot of shopping after 😄
What’s your go to seafood to eat?!
