The day started off with grey skies and heavy rain but when we got to the New forest the weather turned to sun with slightly grey skies.
On arrival to the hotel there was a good 1 way system in place all staff were suited with PPE and very welcoming! Covid safe practices in place.

We had a lovely table in the Inn with a view of the garden! If the weather was sunny I’m sure I would have opted to sit outside 🤔

The menu was made up of loads of local produce I spotted Lyburn cheese , New forest honey & Giggis gelato Who I’m familiar with in Hampshire.

The menu was big and plentiful to pick from They even had a daily specials

-Soup of the day roast pepper
-Catch of the day salmon asparagus , new pots
-Chefs special lamb cannon seasonal veg creamy mash
-Pie of the day chicken, mash top and veg
For starters we got a Camembert wheel to share with the tuna tataki. The combination of strawberries and tuna !! Wow! Match made in heaven. And then the lovely selection of bread and oozy cheese accompanied by a lovely tomato relish! The starters are very big in size I would say good for sharing!

Mains I had chef special of lamb cannon creamy mash and seasonal veg. Yumm loved the vibrancy of colour from the veg on the plate! And the meat was cooked very well not under or over.

All so so delicious and so very filling I didn’t have room for dessert ! And at lunch I don’t usually indulge that much 😂 it was truly a treat!

All the food was really good portion size especially for lunch 😅 I didn’t need to eat dinner that day.
We were really well looked after by our waiter Christophe! He’s a real asset to the team really enthusiastic and really easy to converse with. He took the time to help us chose our food and also after our meal he took time to show us to the gardens out back.

Forest park offers lunch in the restaurant and bar and afternoon tea! It’s a real treat whatever the weather. And whatever the occasion
